Get involved
Elections are won precinct by precinct. Here's how to help in yours.
Volunteer
Knock doors, make calls, staff events, or put out signs. Every hour helps.
Door knocking
What is door knocking?
Door knocking is how we engage with our neighbors, face to face, right here in our own community. We visit homes in small teams, introduce our candidates, listen to what matters to people, and remind them when and how to vote.
Never done it before? No problem. You'll be paired with an experienced volunteer who will show you the ropes. Wear comfortable shoes.

Work the polls
Serve as a poll worker, poll watcher, or poll greeter on Election Day. We'll help you get trained and placed.
More about being a:
What is a poll worker?
Poll workers run the polling place on Election Day. They set up in the morning, check voters in, hand out ballots, help voters with questions, and close the polls at night.
- It's a long day, typically from before 7 AM until after the polls close at 8 PM.
- Poll workers are trained and paid by the county.
- You must be a registered voter. The county elections office assigns you to a polling place.
What is a poll watcher?
Poll watchers observe the election inside the polling place to help make sure it is run fairly and by the rules. They watch and take notes. They don't hand out ballots or talk with voters about how to vote.
- Watchers need an official certificate from the county, which the committee arranges for you.
- You must be a registered voter in Armstrong County.
- We'll go over the rules with you before Election Day.
What is a poll greeter?
Poll greeters welcome voters outside the polling place, hand out sample ballots showing our Republican candidates, and thank people for voting.
- Greeters stay outside, at least 10 feet from the entrance to the voting room, as state law requires.
- Shifts are flexible. Even an hour or two before or after work is a big help.
- No experience needed. We'll give you materials and a quick rundown.
